kc-ourstory-building.jpgNestled in the Rockies of northwest Montana, the Kettle Care headquarters are based on a 5-acre certified organic herb farm just miles from Glacier National Park. Here, hearty Montana-grown organic herbs are used to create 100% natural therapeutic body care products with formulas that have been refined over Kettle Care's 28 years in business.

And it all started because company founder and formulator Lynn Wallingford had a skin problem that just wouldn't go away: eczema.

After living with eczema for 23 years and trying every treatment she could get her hands on, Lynn created a homemade Herbal Aid Crème. Within one year, her battle was over, and her new journey into natural body care treatments began. Lynn's background in horticulture, specializing in organic practices, opened up a well of knowledge devoted to the benefits of botanical ingredients for effective, luxurious body care products that smell as good as they feel.

The Formula Philosophy

Kettle Care's organic formulations have been perfected over time, working with professional estheticians to develop products and protocols that utilize the most beneficial properties of selected plants—those that heal, soothe, and protect against the effects of weather and aging. Botanicals, most of them grown on the Kettle Care Organic Farm, are harvested at peak essential oil production, used in their raw form, and extracted without harming the botanicals or bee ingredients. And all Kettle Care products are processed on site for complete quality control.

Other organic herbs used in Kettle Care products are sourced from the U.S. and Europe only after careful documentation of organic practices have been observed. Kettle Care's organic production methods omit the use of solvent chemicals, high heat, impure additives, and industrial and agricultural pollutants.

The end result is 100% natural, organic body treatments formulated for maximum results, even for the most sensitive skin.

The Kettle Care Organic Farm

kc-ourstory-lynn.jpgLynn Wallingford graduated from College in Edmonds, Washington with a degree in Horticulture in 1976. Throughout her education she focused on every aspect of organic growing, and since that time has become a pioneer in organic agriculture.

After living and working on her own farmlands in Washington's Kettle River Valley, she and her family moved to Montana's Flathead Valley and started the Kettle Care Farm in 1989. From that time on, the farm has been devoted to Kettle Care products. A wide variety of highly beneficial botanicals, such as Echinacea, Calendula, Comfrey, Chamomile, and Marshmallow Root, are organically grown throughout the 5-acre plot, also adorned with wooded areas and cosmetic hedges. A ¼-acre specialty cosmetic garden sits on the property, where Lynn grows specialty herbs for certain products.

And most importantly, Lynn follows strict organic practices certified organic by the Montana Department of Agriculture. Kettle Care has been a member of Green America since 1985, promoting sustainability in every aspect of our society. The Kettle Care farm and gardens have been featured in Organic Gardening Magazine, among many others.
